Hi! I’m Luisa, a Mental Health Counseling Intern currently completing my graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients of all ages feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in the therapy room.
My approach is primarily person-centered, emphasizing empathy and being authentically yourself. I also enjoy integrating multiple different techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and practical coping skills for my clients. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
I am passionate about my work with children, teens, and adults, and some of my areas of focus include anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, and stress related to school, work, or relationships. Through a collaborative process, we work together to identify what feels most helpful, supportive, and safe.
I believe that seeking therapy takes courage, and I aim to make my clients feel comfortable and validated in my room. My goal is to meet clients where they are at and walk alongside them.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading, gaming with friends, and trying new coffee recipes!
