As a licensed mental health counselor & board certified art therapist, I am committed to creating a safe, trusting and collaborative environment through a person-centered approach. Based on your goals in therapy, we will work together to utilize psychotherapy, art therapy, or a combination of the two to facilitate growth while restoring emotional and mental health. As each individual's experiences and needs are unique, I take a holistic approach to our work together that draws on trauma informed treatment and attachment theory. My therapeutic experiences with young children through older adults range from anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders & life transitions, substance use, family members and children of loved ones who use substances, through major mental illness.

For those who choose to incorporate art therapy in their process, art therapy embraces the creative process and materials as a therapeutic and healing experience, instead of focusing on the product. The utilization of art making as intervention has been especially impactful as a gateway for communication and connection between body and mind and allows us to tap into our subconscious to externalize things we may have difficulty verbalizing. You do not need to have artistic experience but a desire to explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior, develop social skills, reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem to practice art therapy.

Outside of therapy sessions, I take walks by the ocean, make art & spend time with my people.
