I believe therapy should be a place where individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, with a focus on building confidence, resilience, and practical coping skills.
Prior to joining The Therapy Zone, I spent 23 years as a public school counselor, gaining extensive experience supporting children and families. My primary areas of clinical interest and expertise include: childhood anxiety, intrusive thoughts, excessive worry, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCD), particularly in elementary school-aged children.
My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and play-based techniques to help children understand their thoughts and feelings, manage anxiety, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop greater self-confidence.
I also have a special interest in supporting parents of children receiving special education services, helping them navigate challenges, advocate for their children, and better understand their emotional and behavioral needs. Additionally, I work with adults navigating divorce and other significant life transitions.
Above all, I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and capable of meaningful growth.
